I was lying in bed on a Sunday, and I had to be at my Samba workshop in one hour.  We are hand making our costumes for the next performance and the idea was to get together to gem the costumes and of course, take a plate and share lunch together.  I bolted out of bed.  I had one hour, I had time to bake!!!

I scanned through the recipe book, still in my PJs.  I needed a recipe that was easy and could be made and cooked in less than one hour.  (I still had to shower, get dressed and drive there!)  I went from savoury to sweet and settled on these biscuits, which didn’t need time to rise and looked fantastic.  Something I could add to a platter with camembert, hummus and grapes.

Well I wasn’t wrong.  They were easy and delicious.   I mixed up the dough, which had a lot of butter BTW (!!!) and divided it in half.  I added sunflower seeds to one lot, and grated parmesan with red pepper and olive tapenade to the other. (I happened to have this in the fridge from when I made the Tapenade Twists, lucky)

I then rolled out the dough and using a cooky cutter, made them into circles and baked.  These savoury biscuits were absolutely divine.

So yum with hummus and camembert, or eaten just by themselves.

My group loved them, even commented on them unsolicited.  We had a good day, gluing and blinging our outfits for our performance in a couple of weeks. Eeeeeek.       Wish us luck!! 🙂
