I went to the gym last night and somehow over the last week, between the Princesstarta, the Hot Cross Bun Loaf and scones with jam and cream I have gained a bit of weight!!! How did that happen? Or not you may ask with all this baking in the house!  Anyway, who says what is an ideal weight.  Tbh, I don’t mind these extra curves, for a while.  And why should society dictate my weight anyway, which I googled out of interest and found that I should be 8 kg lighter…ridiculous, that would make me a size 8!!!  I went to a Poetry Slam yesterday and  two women performed a poem about being happy with your curves, great message, “Our bodies too curvilicious for you” to handle?  Life’s too short for BMIs.

On that note, I have decided to bake apple crumble, one of my weaknesses, oh dear.  Never mind, it’s good for the soul and the mind and its full of fruit so therefore healthy?!  I bought some Braeburn and Granny Smith apples, good for baking and with a slight tart flavour.  The crumble was easy, flour, oats and lots of butter, set to chill in the fridge till I was ready to crumble!  I put the cider on to boil with brown sugar, spices and raisins and then poured this over the sliced and peeled apples in the baking dish.

Then with the chilled pea size crumble on top, it went into the oven till golden brown.  It came out of the oven, hot and bubbling and we managed to polish it off between us, with whipped cream, in not time.  It got the big thumbs up, soooo delicious.  I am even tempted to make another one, just to have in the fridge, but that would just be naughty!! 🙂
